Guru Samarpanam

In connection with Sankara Jayanti celebrations 2025, Maithree came up with an amazing idea to celebrate a day as Guru Samarpanam every year. Usually for Guruvaibhavam, the Guru teaches many kritis of a composer and shishyas perform them together on stage as a choir. But for Samarpanam, the shishyas will perform individually, or as a group of 2 or 3 at max., any 2 or 3 kritis they have been taught throughout the past seasons of Guruvaibhavam. As it was the beginning this year, we decided to keep it as a surprise for Sreedhar (Sreenivasan Gopalakrishnan), the Guru of Guruvaibhavam. 

We contacted all the previous seasons participants individually and sent them registration forms to participate. The response was overwhelming, we got registrations from all the seasons. Participants received the idea with great enthusiasm and excitement and took it as a chance to express their gratitude and love towards their beloved Guru. Many were singing individually for the first time. Apart from the participants, Maithree members also participated for Samarpanam.
