Sri Sreenivasan Gopalakrishnan

Sreenivasan Gopalakrishnan is a Carnatic Musician vocalist, teacher and composer who hails from a musical family in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. He is the single child to Late S. Gopalakrishnan and Smt. Parvathy.

After completing the Graduation, he worked for around 7 years. He holds MA in Music, Kerala University through Distance Education.

Learned classical music vocal under Prof Varkala C S Jayaraman for many years. He was also fortunate to be under Sangeetha Kalanidhi Kalaimamani Neyveli R Santhanagopalan in Gurukulam way.

He has been leading bhajans at "the Art of Living Foundation" , founded by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankar, other well known spiritual centers and temples since 1999. He started giving Carnatic vocal concerts since 2010. He is renowned for rendering concerts soaked in bhakti and bhava, elevating music to the core of unbounded divine space. He has also distinguished himself with his traditional yet creative styles of rendering ragas, musical compositions and swaras.

Sreenivasan is a passionate teacher and he is teaching Carnatic vocal to various students within and outside India. Highly acknowledged for his profound theoretical depth and track record of time-tested teaching skills.

Sreenivasan is also proficient in Mridangam, learned under guru Trivandrum Sundareswaran and plays a variety of instruments like Keyboard, Guitar and Dholak. He also composes music in all genres and is also into Music Programming and recording after completing the Music Production Programme.

He has composed, programmed and sung in many albums, documentaries, and short films.

Some of his well known works,

Vaidehi, a documentary by White Lotus Production featuring an autistic girl aspiring to be a dancer won many international accolades including Hungary Disability Film festival of 2021 and Our Faces Grand Prize award. Sreenivasan has composed and sung the song in this documentary.
Kanimalar, a Vishu song, he worked with the famous lyricist Lawrence sir and composed this Vishu song last year. Sreenivasan himself has acted and sung in the Kanimalar song.
Urake Kalguna, another album that got released last year in the raga Sahana produced by AGR Media family was well received by music lovers.
Sharanam, the much awaited short film on Lord Ayyappa in which Sri.Syamdev has composed the music, Sri. Lawrence has written the lyrics and Sreenivasan has sung released this April 2023. This short film professionally produced by AGR Media Family, another great work by the production house, was a huge success and highly acclaimed by the music industry, critics and audience.
